The First Hearing of the Court was held at the

Radisson Hotel
Ottawa, Canada
April 2, 3 & 4, 1996

The Court proceeded at that time on an indictment against Canada alleging

* unlawful interference in the internal affairs of First Nations
* unlawful and forceful interference in the exercise of First
      Nations jurisdiction
* unlawful seizure of resources and property from First
      Nations, including taxation
